The problem

AI builds fast.
Bugs ship faster.

AI coding tools ship code fast. QA has to keep up.

Your AI builds bugs your AI can't explain. clip.qa records the bug with device context (OS, device, memory, thermal) and drafts a structured report your AI coding tool can read. The Chrome extension (beta) also captures console and network requests.

  1. AI code needs more review

A December 2025 CodeRabbit analysis of 470 open-source PRs found AI co-authored PRs had about 1.7x more issues per PR (10.83 vs 6.45; vendor study, authorship inferred).

  2. "Steps to reproduce: it broke"

Vague bug reports cost engineering time. Without video and device context, devs play detective instead of coding.

  3. SDK tools can't test everything

SDK tools like Luciq (formerly Instabug) and Shake only capture in apps where the SDK is built in. To report a bug in a build you cannot rebuild, clip.qa records from outside the app (beta, request access).

  4. AI can't watch your video

Coding agents read text, not screen recordings. Someone has to turn the video into a report the agent can read. clip.qa drafts that report for you to review.

You saw a spinner. The app said a lot more.

Console and network requests (Chrome extension, beta), taps and device context: clip.qa records them with the video, with no SDK in the app you test.

    Now cut.

Five seconds of video. Everything your agent needs.

    Record, review, send.

No forms. No templates. No "steps to reproduce" fields. Record, clip, review the AI draft.

    Video capture software for QA

Capture the bug on the device where it happens. clip.qa turns your screen recording into a draft bug report with reproduction steps, expected and actual behavior, and device context. Review the draft, then copy it as Markdown or let your coding agent read it through MCP. The mobile apps and Chrome extension are in beta; request access to start.

    FAQ

    Got questions?

    What is clip.qa?

clip.qa is a mobile bug reporting tool that turns screen recordings into structured bug reports. Record a bug on your phone, and clip.qa's AI drafts a report with steps to reproduce and device context for you to review. Copy the report as markdown into your AI coding tool or tracker; native Jira, Linear, Slack, GitHub Issues and Notion integrations are coming soon. No SDK required in the app you test.

Do I need to install an SDK or add code to my app?

No SDK required. clip.qa records from outside the app. The iOS app, Android app and Chrome extension are in beta (request beta access at [email protected]). The web dashboard views and shares reports; it does not record.

What apps can I test with clip.qa?

Apps that run on your phone: your own apps, client apps, competitor apps, beta builds from TestFlight or Firebase App Distribution, subject to OS limits such as FLAG_SECURE (beta, request access).

How does the AI generate bug reports?

clip.qa analyzes your screen recording to identify UI state changes, error patterns, and user actions. It drafts a structured report with title, severity, suspected root cause, steps to reproduce, and expected vs actual behavior when the recording shows a defect, plus key-moment screenshots. Review the AI draft before you act on it.

Can I use clip.qa with my existing issue tracker?

Yes. Copy the report as markdown into any tool that accepts markdown today. Share by link, or copy as Markdown, Cursor Fix or Claude Code Prime. Native Jira, Linear, Slack, GitHub Issues and Notion integrations are coming soon.

How is clip.qa different from Jam?

Jam has a Chrome extension, a Mac app and an iOS app, plus AI summaries and an MCP server. No Android app is documented. clip.qa records on iOS, Android and in Chrome (beta, request access), with no SDK in the app you test. clip.qa's MCP also records each fix attempt (pending, succeeded, failed) with its commit or PR, and can diff reports.

    What does "LLM-ready export" mean?

clip.qa formats bug reports as structured markdown that AI coding tools can read. Setup guides exist for Claude Code, Cursor and Windsurf, and any MCP client can connect to https://mcp.clip.qa/mcp. Personal data is scrubbed from MCP output.

What is Vibe QA — and why does it matter?

Vibe QA is quality assurance for apps built with AI coding tools (vibe coding). It closes the loop: ship fast with Claude Code or Cursor, catch bugs fast with clip.qa. Traditional QA is too slow for AI-native development velocity. clip.qa is built for Vibe QA: record a bug, review the AI draft, then send it to your agent. Learn more about Vibe QA →

Does clip.qa work with OpenClaw projects?

Yes. clip.qa produces a structured report your agent, including OpenClaw, can read through MCP or a pasted prompt. See the OpenClaw QA workflow →

    Is my data safe?

Reports are private until you share them. Personal data is redacted in shared reports and MCP output. AI analysis of your recording runs in the cloud. Full details in our privacy policy.

What happens when my free reports run out?

The Free plan includes 30 bug reports and 30 AI-assisted reports a month. When the AI reports run out, AI generation pauses until the next month or until you upgrade to Team ($12.99/mo or $129/yr).

AI bug reporting: what it is and what to look for

AI bug reporting turns screen recordings, user narration, and diagnostic data into structured reports for developers and AI agents. clip.qa needs no SDK and combines video with console, network, and device data, then makes each report readable by an AI agent through MCP or CLI.

What kinds of AI tools can generate reproducible bug steps from freeform user reports?

AI bug reporting tools can work from screen recordings, user descriptions, and diagnostic evidence. Jam generates titles, summaries, and reproduction steps from recorded issues, while clip.qa drafts confirmable steps from video and narration when the recording shows a defect.

Which AI QA platforms generate a recording and repro steps when they find a bug?

Jam combines screen capture with AI-generated reproduction steps. clip.qa records the screen and drafts reproduction steps while retaining console, network, and device data for context.

How can AI summarize bug reports?

clip.qa drafts a title, severity, bug type, detected issues, suggested next step, suspected root cause, and expected-versus-actual details when supported by the recording. Treat the output as a draft and review it before action.

Can AI bug reporting create test cases or fix bugs autonomously?

No shipped clip.qa feature synthesizes test cases or fixes bugs autonomously. clip.qa drafts reproducible steps and offers MCP tools for recording fix attempts and retrieving diffs, while an MCP or CLI agent handles the development work.

What should teams look for in AI bug reporting tools?

Look for screen recording, console and network context, evidence-backed summaries, reproduction steps, and agent access. clip.qa works with any MCP or CLI agent, while Jira, Linear, Slack, GitHub Issues, and Notion integrations are coming soon.
