Alternatives / Luciq (formerly Instabug) alternative

A Luciq alternative
for the bug in front of you.

Luciq, formerly Instabug, is built to watch an app in production: crashes with symbolication, performance, session replay, and AI agents that triage and suggest fixes. It is the right answer when you own the app and run it at scale. clip.qa answers a smaller question for solo developers and small teams shipping AI-built mobile apps: what did the tester just see, and can my agent act on it?

Instabug announced the new name on 2025-09-24. The older page for people who still search the old name is Instabug alternative (now Luciq), and the table version is clip.qa vs Luciq.

Where Luciq is stronger

What you give up by leaving

Crash reporting with symbolication

Luciq reports crashes on its own and maps them to readable code. clip.qa does not report crashes on mobile.

APM, session replay and in-app feedback

Production performance data, replays of real sessions and a shake-to-report widget inside your app are Luciq features. A screen recording from a tester covers none of them.

AI agents across the lifecycle

Luciq's Resolve, Detect, Triage and Release agents work on crashes, visual issues, duplicate reports and pull requests. They run on data from the SDK.

Integrations and enterprise support

Jira, GitHub, Slack, Linear and others are connected today, with enterprise support tiers. clip.qa lists Jira, Linear, Slack, GitHub Issues and Notion as coming soon.

Why teams of one or two choose clip.qa

Three reasons, all checkable

It records from outside the app

clip.qa uses the phone's own screen recording, ReplayKit on iOS and MediaProjection on Android. Nothing is added to the app you test, so a build you cannot rebuild is still reportable. Some screens block capture, for example Android screens marked secure. The apps are in beta; request access.

You can see the price before you call anyone

Luciq lists no price and no free plan on its pricing page; it asks for a demo or a limited proof of concept. clip.qa is free for 30 bug reports and 30 AI-assisted reports a month. Team is $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with unlimited bug reports, 200 AI-assisted reports and 50 share links a month.

The report is written for your agent

Each report separates bugs from feedback, so a spoken opinion becomes a feedback item and not an invented bug. Copy it as Cursor Fix, Claude Code Prime or Markdown, or let your agent read it over MCP, which is on every tier including Free. Luciq's MCP is on all plans too, so this is parity on availability; the difference is the recording-first report.

Choose Luciq if…

  • You need crash reporting with symbolication in production
  • You want APM, session replay or in-app feedback in one platform
  • You own the app and an SDK is acceptable
  • You need native Jira, Linear, Slack or GitHub today, or enterprise support
Visit Luciq

Choose clip.qa if…

  • You test a build you cannot rebuild: a vendor app, a competitor app, a TestFlight build from another team
  • You are a solo developer or small team shipping an AI-built mobile app
  • You want a free plan and a price you can read before you talk to anyone
  • You want your agent to get a structured report: Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Codex, ChatGPT or any MCP client or CLI agent
Request beta access

How the two fit together

Luciq watches production; clip.qa reports what a person saw before release. If you already run Luciq, clip.qa does not replace it. If you do not need production monitoring yet, clip.qa starts free. Competitor details checked 2026-11-03.
